Peter Eden is an artist with a strong love of colour, leaning towards a tropical palette. His abstract painting style and inspiration is often drawn from hot weather plants and parched countryside. When verging on the representational, his style is naive - influenced by his long-lasting love of Cornwall and St Ives in particular. His paintings also reflect his love of gardens.
Having known Barbara Hepworth, John Milne and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, their influence was considerable in establishing Peter's interest both in painting and sculpture from a formative age.
Nowadays most paintings are produced at a fairly fast pace to achieve an immediate impact or different emphasis. He is keen to experiment with a variety of differing effects and styles.
