The gallery celebrates the work of contemporary British artists and makers with a strong emphasis on the West Country. Based in a pretty Georgian walkway in the heart of Taunton, the gallery offers a carefully chosen, appealing and beautifully designed selection of hand-made art and craft. Complementing the ground-floor gallery’s eclectic displays, at Harlequin Upstairs there is an ever-changing programme of exciting themed and co-ordinated art exhibitions. Established artists and new talent are shown at their best in this light and airy space. Artist Nancy Murgatroyd owns and runs the Gallery with business partner Jane Adams, a ceramicist.
