As the world reconfigures itself in the 21st century, the role of art has become vital in rethinking our relationship to justice. On its 15th anniversary, Arquetopia celebrates its academic legacy by further expanding its anti-colonial curriculum across all residency programs. Participating artists can now deepen their practice through a diverse range of instructional residencies, including natural pigments, ceramics, printmaking, organic paint, and gold leafing, as well as various textile mediums such as backstrap loom weaving, embroidery, and tapestry.
Arquetopia invites visual artists, designers, writers, and students aged 22 and over to apply for our special artist-in-residence scholarships. Our residencies provide a unique space where resistance, knowledge, and ethics converge. We are committed to imagining a collective present, past, and future that prioritizes the well-being of all participants. Our programs emphasize process-oriented, autonomous, and project-based learning, with a critical focus on studio practices and artistic research.
Seize the chance to join our International Artist Residencies in Puebla or Oaxaca, Mexico, and Cusco, Peru, where art and ethics intertwine to reimagine the world and inspire transformative change. We look forward to welcoming you!
